Beth Boger is the Human Resource Manager for the Small Business Unit at AIA, Alera Group, and holds an MS in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of Baltimore. She began her career in the nonprofit sector as a Program Coordinator for a local Mental Health Association and then a hospice agency. She ultimately became an HR department of one for a nonprofit that serves children and adults with special needs, managing everything from onboarding, payroll, and benefits administration, stay and exit interviews, unemployment and workers comp issues, and employee engagement and discipline. She is passionate about improving the employee experience and encouraging employers and employees to remain connected and communicative throughout the employment life cycle. Her role at the SBU is to be a guide and trainer for small businesses that do not have a designated HR person.

Beth’s favorite role is as a wife and mother to two sons, two bonus daughters, and three dogs. When she isn’t spending time with them, you may find her on a stage or in a recording studio. She performs and records under her former name, Beth McDonald.
