Combating Burnout in an “Always On” Workforce: Learning to Adapt in a Modern Workforce

Burnout is the latest buzzword in the mental health community. While it is a buzzword, it has a very real definition by the World Health Organization as an “occupational phenomenon”. The concern of burnout grows as more workers adopt an “always on” mentality – needing to check emails, respond to phone calls, work on the weekends. As the boundary between work and life blurs, employees may be working more often, resulting in greater stress and exhaustion.

Join us as Gretchen Day, AIA’s own VP of Health Innovation and Advanced Strategies, discusses the reality of burnout and the impact of an “always on” mindset. She will be sharing strategies and ideas that can be adopted personally as well as within your own organizations to help minimize the “occupational phenomenon” of burnout.
Learning Objectives:
Defining and understanding the signs and symptoms of burnout
What employers should understand about burnout and the impact of burnout
– Strategies to help minimize symptoms of burnout in ourselves and application to the workplace
