Combating Burnout in an “Always On” Workforce: Learning to Adapt in a Modern World

The World Health Organization defines burnout as an “occupational phenomenon”. Concerns of burnout are growing as more workers adopt an “always-on” mentality.  As the boundary between work and life blurs, employees may be working more often, resulting in greater stress and exhaustion.

Join us as Gretchen Day, AIA VP of Health Innovation and Advanced Strategies, discusses the reality of burnout and shares strategies that can be adopted personally as well as within your own organizations to help minimize the “occupational phenomenon” of burnout.

About the Speaker

  • Gretchen Day MPH, MCHES

    VP of Health Innovation and Advanced Strategies

    In her role, Gretchen supports organizations to strategize and develop ways to create a thriving culture in the workplace, through a variety of catered solutions in the areas of population health, well-being and culture, and cost containment strategies. She works directly with clients to assess current programs and create innovative multi-year strategies to promote change and enhance workplace culture. She is passionate about improving the health of populations, not just by enhancing workplace culture, but also through the delivery of innovative and proven solutions focused on individual health.  Gretchen has helped lead the development of our Advanced Healthcare Strategies initiative, which is designed for employers seeking solutions that challenge the status quo within the healthcare market.

    Gretchen brings a diverse background combining medical-field experience with a background in Public Health, having earned her Master’s in Public Health degree from The Pennsylvania State University. Her background in Health Policy and Health Behavior have provided her with a unique skill set to understand the changing health care environment and the impact on the health of employees. She maintains her Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES) title which qualifies her to consult in areas of health promotion, program development, and organizational culture. Gretchen holds a Pennsylvania Insurance Producer License for Life, Accident, and Health, as well as, a certification in Critical Outcomes Report Analysis from the Intel / GE Care Innovations Validation Institute. Gretchen joined the AIA, Alera Group team in 2014.
